Fishing enthusiast Tara Gair will be joining us on this adventure of wilderness canoe tripping and fishing on the Manigotagan River located in the heart of Nopiming Park. Nopiming is the Anishinabe word for “entrance to the wilderness” The river boasts an abundance of wildlife, scenic waterfalls, navigable rapids and serene backcountry campsites. We will paddle and portage from Caribou landing on Quesnel Lake, discovering great fishing spots, enjoying gourmet meals cooked over a fire and gaining skills and confidence in moving water. Many of you will be familiar with Tara’s enthusiasm and smile from her instagram site @Tara_explores on instagram. Tara is passionate about the wilderness and sharing her fishing skills, her enthusiasm is contagious.

We will camp beside rapids and waterfalls and stop for a shore lunch at Charles’ Cabin with longtime Fisherman and Indigenous River steward Charles Simard.
